History Behind the Heat Exchange App

Heat Exchange is an app that capitalizes off of all things Sneakers/streetwear. In Justin’s 12 years of being a sneaker fanatic, he would meet up with people Face to Face using Facebook groups, Craigslist, OfferUp, etc., to Buy, Sell and most importantly trade, to feed his sneaker addiction. Heat Exchange was created to allow users to Buy and Sell, while also being the first app to allow trading on its platform.

The two apps that would be considered Heat Exchange’s competition are StockX, which utilizes unanimous selling of purely deadstock(never worn) sneakers and clothing, and Goat, which allows New and Used items to be sold, while also utilizing unanimous selling. This means that there is no verbal interaction between the buyer and seller before a deal has been made. Heat Exchange allows the user to communicate, send photos, and negotiate deals with one another through their In-app messaging system. Each User will have their very own Heat Locker in which they list all of their items for sale, essentially their very own sneaker store that allows all other users on the app to view and message that seller directly for inquiries. Heat Exchange also gives its Users the ability to buy, sell, and trade locally with ZERO fees, providing local sneaker businesses a new place to market their products online, while also allowing normal consumers to avoid the hassles of the shipping process to do same-day deals with people in their local area.

Heat Exchange Store Front also offers restoration services, ranging from regular clean-ups to full restorations, designed to breathe new life into users’ sneakers. They also offer consignment possibilities.

Mark

Co-Owner
Sneaker Entrepreneur

Mark has always had an entrepreneurial mindset. Long before Heat Exchange, he was buying candy from Costco and reselling it to classmates in elementary school before expanding into CDs and DVDs, constantly looking for the next opportunity.

A lifelong sneaker enthusiast who has followed every Jordan release since 1991, turning that passion into a business was a natural progression. In 2008, Mark began reselling sneakers, transforming a hobby into a career. What started as a childhood hustle has evolved into a lifelong profession, and today he continues serving the sneaker community through Heat Exchange—combining decades of industry knowledge with a genuine passion for sneakers and the culture that surrounds them.
